Jane Says Thank You
Dreary Saturday morning. Jane woke today with aches and pains that predict cold weather ahead. The dog was loathe to amble out into her territory, which encompasses the entire backyard...an area large enough to give her running room, but not large enough to have her disappear from sight. (she did wander out into the yard, did her daily sniff around the empty pool we need to get rid of one of these days, and promptly came back in for her morning treat.)
This past week has been especially busy for Jane. The best kind of busy -- meeting new people, ala my Smart Man Online interview, which attracted many new faces Jane had never seen before, folks who came from Cre8asiteforums, a place Jane is going to be checking out on a regular basis; making arrangements to travel to NY to the Stevie Awards; meeting with a client who is a marvelous woman in her own right but who is going to rock the world when she gets going on her book (watch for more information about her as it develops); attending an Executive Women of Rochester meeting where personal coach Sally Ward taught us a number of useful ways to set boundaries...always a challenge in Jane's world, and in most women's lives.
There is still hours of work ahead of Jane for the weekend, including the composing of a speech for her Toastmasters club meeting tomorrow (what, haven't even started it, yet? Heavens to Betsy! Indeed).
Therefore, Jane is going to take just a few minutes today to thank some important people who make a difference in her life.
In the blogosphere, Jane would especially like to thank Wayne Hurlbert of Blog Business World. Wayne is a dedicated blogger who happily shares his expertise in writing, blogging, and search engine optimization with the world. And, he's a devout supporter of other bloggers who do the same. Jane appreciates his many comments on her blog, and his many mentions of her in his blog.
Next, Jane would like to thank all of her Smart Man Online and Smart Woman Online interviewees. We cannot list them all here, but Jane would like to send out a special note of appreciation to each and every one of them. The men and women who have participated in Jane's blog interviews so far have been outstanding professionals, highly intelligent, and extremely helpful -- to Jane, but more importantly, to her readers. It's Jane's delight to also say she has some more extraordinary folks lined up for the future.
Of course, Jane cannot leave out the lady bloggers she reads on a regular basis; women who share their thoughts, expertise, research, and their insights with the entire world, writing in their blogs almost daily. The list is a long one, so we will not list them all here -- they know who they are. Some are bloggers who write to inform, others are fun, witty ladies who delight us with stories about their daily lives, stories that serve to not only amuse or entertain us, but stories that help us reflect on the human condition: what is it? who's qualified to say what it is? do we have to care?
Offline, Jane thanks the women who cheer her on, and the men who support her business goals. As a parting thought, Jane would like to leave you, dear readers, with a quote from Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. One that has reminded her many times to point her face to the sun, never allowing it to fall earthward: (Jane does not think falling face forward in the grass is a good place to contemplate dreams):
"If you would hit the mark, you must aim a little above it. Every arrow that flies feels the attraction of the earth."
What's not to like about that?

Thanks for the mention of my blog and all of your kind words. It's a privilege to work with talented business people like yourself, and the many wonderful people we meet through our blogs.
The true power of blogs is in the people we meet, and how we share what we know to help others. Lip-Sticking is a wonderful example of that sharing process. The Smart Man and Smart Women interviews help us to meet other helpful and sharing bloggers as well.
We all learn from one another. Sharing and helping others makes everyone stronger and more successful in both their business and personal lives.
As Jane would say, "What's not to like about that?"
