It's a Mom, Mom world out there. You don't have to believe Jane, all you have to do is read the news.
BSM Media, masters at Marketing to Moms, offers this marketing information in its report, Is today's advertising working? Real-life moms talk about today's advertising and marketing:
For print advertising:
Only 20% of mother think print advertising is doing a good job speaking to mothers. And yet, the report says that "when moms have time to read, it's magazines they are reading. The average mother reads 4.1 titles a month, with 3 of them being delivered to her home."
Online? This is what Marketing to Moms say in their report,
Moms are online seeking information and spending money on the Internet. Seventy-one percent of mothers said they were very likely to use the Internet for product information, advice or general information.
Finally, the report says that fifty-five percent of mothers say they rely on recommendations when making purchases for the home. The number jumps to 64% when it comes to buying a product for their child.
Hmmm...Jane wonders how many Moms might be shopping at your website this holiday season? Jane wonders if you're paying attention...word of mouth...which often translates into word of mouse, works. It's a sure bet that the majority of those Moms are buying for their children AND grandchildren. And for their husbands, boyfriends, sisters, mothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, girl friends, neighbors...need we go on?
We leave you with one thought: our local NBC news told us the other day that AFTER CHRISTMAS shopping is becoming bigger than Christmas shopping. With that thought in mind, think: gift certificates.
What's not to like about that?
