All right, Jane will confess -- we met and talked with far more than 5 Fantastic Females at Blogher. We cannot tell you, dear readers, how many women we sat next to at different sessions, or at dinner, or at lunch...but it was more than 5. Consequently, we will save this post for tomorrow. Jane has spent ALL day playing catch up. With a hundred answered emails to prove it. We're very proud of that.
We do not want to disappoint, however. We leave you with 5 Quotes guaranteed to lift your spirits, get you motivated, or make you pause and appreciate the world around you:
" The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Eleanor Roosevelt
Obviously, the women who dreamed of Blogher and then made it happen, believed. Jane wants you to start believing, also.
"Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them and try to follow them." Louisa May Alcott
Lil' Orphan Annie sings it best, "The sun'll come out tomorrow," she says. "You can bet your bottom dollar that the sun will shine." Even behind those dark storm clouds. Even in the midst of pouring rain, or swirling snow -- there is sun. You know it's there. It holds the hope of the future. Don't ever forget that it's waiting to guide you to a better place. Always.
"Will you be the rock that redirects the course of the river?" Claire Nuer
We discussed, among so many things at Blogher, whether a small voice in the blogosphere counted, or if, as many people think, you have to be one of the A list bloggers to get attention. Jane, and many other women there, believe that being the rock that redirects the course of the river sometimes means being a big fish in a little pond, instead of a small fish in a bigger pond. The river flows around us, and, if we are steadfast in our beliefs, we will someday redirect the river -- merely by staying our course.
"Disappointment to a noble soul is what cold water means to burning metal: it strengthens, tempers, intensifies, but never destroys it." Eliza Tabor
Never let disappointment dictate success or failure. Be master of your fate -- be noble and strong, despite life's disappointments.
"It's never too late, in fiction or in life, to revise." Nancy Thayer
Revise, revise, revise. No matter how strongly you feel...how sure you are...how important
something seems...look at each task or chore with new eyes and make your choices with revision in mind. Change, someone once said, is the only constant.
Embrace it.
Watch this space...more to come from our trip to Santa Clara. Much thanks to the LIVE bloggers. (Jane looked and looked for the DEAD bloggers, but thankfully, there were none.) We hope that made you smile.
What's not to like about that?
