Blogher is always full of energy and laughter. Women, despite what you've heard from your kids, or your mother, or anyone else, really do like to have fun. We're a fun-loving bunch. Even when we're talking business.
I arrived yesterday just in time to sneak into a session on Blogger Outreach programs, something I am very interested in. I do that quite a bit - reach out to my blogger friends. But, I've only done it in a business setting for Virtual Book Tours. We're working to make ours (VBTs) better and better, and yet I still feel as if there are other ways to do blogger outreach for my clients.
Well, I got an earful yesterday! The session I snuck into was facilitated by Elana Centor (blogger extraordinaire), and featured Lindsay Lebresco from Graco. Graco makes baby products. It was fascinating to hear how Lindsay and her team did their blogger outreach, especially how she recognized the value of the long tail, and links, and how she openly admitted that it's "hard to quantify relationships." This for their Sweet Peace product...something I wish I'd known about two weeks ago when I had to attend my niece's baby shower. I did ask if they're doing a blogger outreach to Grandma's... but...doesn't look like they are, just yet. I also think they should reach out to Moms & Daughters together. But, that's just me.
Meanwhile, here's the Graco blog...hop over and see what's up?
After that we heard from Susan Getgood and HP and a neat program they did with photo albums. I'll write more about that later. The interesting part of that panel was the HP rep admitting they are still learning this social media stuff, and how you can't control the conversation.
The next panel was moderated by Mary Hunt, one of WME's authors. Mary is deep into green, and sustainable standards, so she was perfect for this panel. It was for Method Products, "clean like a mother," they say. You gotta love their homepage: Clean Your Own Throne, it says. Made me laugh. Well done, gals.
I will write more about them, too...later, but I have to get ready to go downstairs now.

Hi Lindsay, yes, that was me! My granddaughter turns 10 this week and I speak for all the grandmoms out there... I'd LOVE to get together, but...I'm on the East Coast. And, I think, you're on the West Coast. But, keep me informed... I'm all about sharing the news.
Tammy, I will definitely check out Fast Pitch... thanks for sharing that. It looks worth exploring.

So that was you that asked that question? :) Thanks for the quick write up and link to the blog! We certainly see the value in grandparents and the fact that their role and involvement in child-rearing is changing significantly. We don't have an "on-purpose" strategy to reach out to g-parents but I'd love to partner with Beth's group again and maybe she can help guide us a little. This is the blog group Beth mentioned- http://svmomblog.typepad.com/50somethingmoms/ Perhaps you would like to come if we get together? :)

Hi,
Great stuff...
Have you promoted this blog on Fast Pitch!(www.fastpitchnetworking.com)? It's an online business network that has as one of it's features a way to promote your blog to their audience of small business owners. FP was actually just named Website of The Week by MSNBC's 'Your Business' show for small business owners.
If you're already on another network (LinkedIn, etc.) - no problem. Fast Pitch! takes a completely different approach. Compare Networks: http://www.fastpitchnetworking.com/comapre.cfm
Keep up the good work!
Tammy
