» BP Is Gettin' Greener With Solar Energy! from Green Sexy
While driving through Maryland on a recent trip to Washington, D.C., we noticed a BP Solar plant being built right off the side of the highway. This was a glorious sight to see, and upon returning home, I promptly rushed [Read More]

Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm glad you liked the post and that you're keeping an eye out for those BP stations in your travels. I just heard back from Ann and she did read this and was nice enough to share with me the graphic for the BP Toilet Lady they created. So, I'm going to add it to the post.Take a look.

Donna, this is outstanding. I have mostly lumped all oil companies together, but now I know to keep an eye out for BP when I'm traveling. Happy to say, on a recent trip, that's just where we did stop... at a BP.

Thanks for contributing to Lipsticking. I look forward to more of your articles.

Thanks for doing all of the research and sharing all of this, Donna.

I noticed the changes at BP. I didn't look deep enough to see what they were doing. (There aren't a lot of BPs around here, either.) I have noticed their more overt "green" commercials and I do admire that they are investing in alternative energy.

I hope it's enough and soon enough to make a difference in climate change.

Great article, Donna! I began noticing/admiring BP's marketing efforts several months ago. With the cost of gas approaching $4/gallon where I live, the idea of "liking" any oil company or its gas stations is somewhat absurd right now... and yet I DO like BP. It's practically subliminal, and I'm sure Ann's campaign is the reason. Maybe it'll help other marketers (especially those pitching to women) do "a little bit better."

Thanks!

Steven

BP's transformation into a "green" company is more than just lip-service. Along with a savvy redesign of their logo and various other cosmetic changes to their image, they have also invested heavily in solar, wind and hydroelectric power. Just the other day we drove by a BP Solar plant in Maryland as it was being constructed!
