Anita Campbell of Small Business Trends was one of the first bloggers I met, back in the day when blogging for business was still fairly new. Anita has grown her business substantially, since those long ago days ... when blogs were social media and the likes of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter weren't even glimmers in their founders' eyes. Her Small Business Trends blog, and her other Internet properties, are must-reads for anyone hoping to build success online.
When Anita asked me to participate in a Top Trends Series she is posting on her blog, I rushed to accept, right away. My post on the Top 10 Ways to Promote Your Business Book in 2009 is live today, and it's pretty exciting to see it on Anita's site.
If you're an author, an aspiring author, or know an author who is struggling to get a book noticed, I hope you'll take a minute to read that post...and to visit some of the other trends on Anita's site. Being an author means being the CEO of a small company - and Anita's other contributors to her Top 10 Series have excellent advice for you, such as this one on Global Trends.

. Small Business owners are largely forgotten. Thats why I only focus on them. I have experience several members of my family file bankruptcy due to small business failures. I also I suffered through 2 destroyed businesses due to failure however, in my failings I have learned some of the secrets to success. (Who can say they know it all?)
What I like about small business owners is that they are not afraid to take huge risks and lay it all on the line. But, I agree they do need a lot of help with their marketing. I think having them go the social media and email route is not only the least expensive but its also the most effective. Thanks for the stats!
