Muchas, muchas, Yvonne for the reminder about adopting a village. Frankly, I've been discouraged by the lack of response by my friends and fellow women - although I know we're all busy and frequently overwhelmed by appeals. (Oh, where to start?)

Admittedly, I've got Tanah Keke (the village we're supporting) on the brain, but every time I buy lunch out (with girlfriends), I can't help but notice we all individually spend more than $12 (and that's for a "quick" lunch.) The bottles of wine we take to dinner parties. And so on.

I think we all, including me, often forget that we're interconnected, we're all in this together. What affects someone in Africa or Indonesia ultimately affects me. What goes around, comes around, often in very unexpected ways.
Shonali Burke commented on 'International Women's Day - For the women you are and the women you know'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c011b53ef0163029bc1fe970d2012-03-08T15:40:14Z2012-03-08T15:40:14ZShonali Burkehttp://www.waxingunlyrical.comYvonne, I am blown away that you gave me this award.
But more than that, thank you for all you've done over your career so far to empower women. I remember when I was just starting to get to know the woman entrepreneur community, you were someone who, when I read and heard about you, and I was in complete awe of you. I still am, and I pinch myself that we are now connected. Life is amazing in so many ways.

Thank you so much again, and happy International Women's Day!
