The holiday season is in full swing now and here are a few interesting ways brands are using the platform and apps to connect with their customers.
Kohl’s launched their Dream a Little Dream Holiday campaign that consists of the Win a Dream Sweepstakes. Kohl's will pick up the tab from one lucky shopper a day from every Kohl's store from now till December 24. Here's how it works:
The first person who is exiting a participating Kohl’s Department Store at the randomly pre-selected time will potentially win the sum of their cash register receipt up to a maximum of $5,000. If the shopper did not make a transaction then he/she will instead win a $75.00 Kohl’s Promotional Gift. Kohl's is also running an online version of the game as well.
On top of this sweepstakes, Kohls's is donating $1 to Toys for Tots, up to $500,000, for every new person who Likes Kohl’s Facebook Page from Nov. 23 through Dec. 24. Fans will also receive exclusive offers and can help select items to go on sale.
FedEx is offering a ‘Ship to Friends’ app that enables people to ship packages directly from the FedEx Facebook Page. People can then share the news that they've given friends a package. FedEx is also still running their Small Business Grant Contest and recently announced their top 100 Finalists. You can view their stories now and then come back on January to see who the Grand Prize winner of $25,000 will be along with 5 winners of a $5,000 grant.
The Gap has their Pin To Win Wish List Sweepstakes in which they are inviting fans to pin one of the provided gap images to a board on their Pinterest page. Each pin gets an entry into the random drawings that are taking place each week up till December 28. Five weekly winners will each receive a $50 Gap gift card.
The Gap has also teamed up with Postagram on their Be Bright page which offers fans the ability to send their own Facebook, Instagram and mobile photos as real, printed postcards to friends free of charge. The cards are delivered with a pop-out square photo and a message from the Facebook sender.
Macy’s created a My Macy’s timeline app which enables people to discover products and sales, create shopping lists, Like and share items with friends and share that they've "shopped for" particular things. Macy's also has brought back their annual holiday Believe donation campaign in which they will donate $1.00 for every letter received to the Make a Wish Foundation up to $1M. At this time they have received 674,150 letters.
If you're interested, this Friday at 9 pm CBS will be airing the classic movie, Yes, Virginia. Hope this helps to get you in the Holiday spirit. Enjoy.
