Thank you, single moms. My husband was on a business trip last week which was fine until my three-year-old got sick (three trips to pediatrician, rushed to ER, taken by ambulance to the children’s hospital) and the stress and sleepless nights –- only one week of it –- showed me just how hard it is to do it on your own. Single moms, we salute you.
Thank you, heroic moms. My friend just had a baby. He wasn’t supposed to make it to term because he had Trisomy 18, a very serious disorder. He wasn’t supposed to survive delivery. He wasn’t supposed to make it home from the hospital. When he was born, they laid him on her chest and left him for dead, but he felt that warm skin and mommy’s love and he LIVED! She brought him home and barely slept the first few days as she didn’t want to put him down. She cuddled, nurtured and believed in him –- and this little fighter has lived three weeks as of today. Don’t let ANYONE tell you that love and prayers can’t work miracles.
