Leadership Conference Follow-up
September 20, 2004
In our post yesterday, Jane forgot to mention a very important thing...an astounding thing...something that was so unique to the Women's Leadership Conference, it set the tone for the day, filling each of us with oooohs and aaahs and wide-eyed admiration. What did we forget to tell you...the number of times the word "shopping" entered the conversation....
We don't have an exact number, but our fiance remarked that he'd never attended a conference where the word shopping came up so often! Not only that, he was surprised to find that each vendor in the exhibit hall was actually selling her wares. And what scintillating wares were there! Jewelry, marvelous clothes that don't wrinkle when you fold them and stuff them in a suitcase, books, goodies in the way of food and wine accessories, baskets of chocolate, American Indian dolls; the list could take up a whole post all by itself.
Women...shopping...talking...supporting each other in business and at home...welcoming the men who attended with the same enthusiasm we welcome all of our friends...
What's not to like about that?
