Jane Gives Thanks

Dear readers, Jane is overcome with emotion today. We must share a personal story with you. A story the emcompasses the concept of marketing to women better than any advice we could give, better than any news article we could quote, better than any expert we could consult.

Jane has been attempting to teach you that women are busy, intelligent, focused business owners-- people who need everything their male counterparts need, and more. We have often pointed out the emotional aspect of building relationships with women-- while others are adept at explaining the business or management side of things. Understanding that the emotional side of a woman's brain, and the business/management side, operate together, hand in hand, with some women showing strength in one area today, in the other area, tomorrow, is a key element in learning how to market to women.

Today, Jane's need to share her emotional side with you stems from numerous overwhelming events happening in our lives. We are pursuing a dream-- one that we've held for many, many years. One that seemed unattainable-- but gradually, with faith and the encouragement of family and friends-- was made real. We are trying to plan a wedding, and we are still...as always-- in a state of foreverness-- privileged to be mothering three children. They are adults, now, but they will always be 'children' to us.

While we give credit to both our soon-to-be husband, Tom, and our family (especially our sisters and our mother), we must admit that the children, those three urchins who, as toddlers, clung to our ankles so many years ago, get the majority of the credit.  They deserve it because throughout the years they gave us hope. They tagged along while we gave this writing thing a try, and inspired us to achieve, despite pitfalls and roadblocks. They criticized sometimes, in a childish way-- objecting to the long hours we worked-- and they sent us cards or notes with sentiments that make a mother's heart swell with pride.

Today, Jane (Yvonne) has been blessed by a note on one of our other blogs, Pics_from_old_pc_111_2 from our oldest child, Chloe, who lives so very far way, in Colorado, with our granddaughter and a fiance. We invite you to click over to her note, dear readers, and share in our amazement. We hope you will see why emotion is the word of the day today. For, when a mother receives such a tribute, the world disappears and all that is left is the overwhelming sense of happiness associated with being a Mom who did something right.

Thank you, Chloe. No matter what else I do with my life, being your Mom, and Maggie's Mom, and Donnie's Mom, will always be the best.

Perhaps, dear readers, it's time to call or write to your Moms? If you cannot do that, give someone else's Mom a hug. Mom's are what make the world go round. "The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world." A line from a 19th century poem, but what volumes it speaks! Jane needs no other gift, from any of her children, than the kind of gift we received today in this comment from Chloe.

There is everything to like about that! If you understand why, you are on your way to success.
