Mommy Bloggers: A Term of Endearment
February 28, 2007
I really get steamed when mainstream media (or anyone else, for that matter) relegates journal bloggers to the category of "chatty" or "spewing your guts"...
A lot of those so-called journal bloggers are Mommy Bloggers. They're the most important people on the net, today. Why? Because they're building strong communities that talk about everything - and they do it online, in front of the whole world. These women should never be ignored or patronized because they're chatting up their thoughts and feelings, sharing the latest news from the homefront.
On the contrary, they should be exhaulted and encouraged! And, YOU should be paying close attention to them. Like Adage is (article from Marketing Vox). These are your customers, your prospects - and, if they are not in the market for your products or services, they know someone who is. Could be a relative, a friend, or just an acquaintance. You never know.
Treat them with respect. Be aware of the latest conversations buzzing about the blogosphere. Tap into their collective knowledge. Their influence travels far and wide. If you treat them right, yours will, too.
Mommy Bloggers, just be careful not to show any partially nude photos of your children and don't give any personal details about where they go to school, shop, play, hang out, etc. so the online predators will be foiled.
I almost bought famous ad writer Faith Popcorn's latest book. Do you recommend it?
