The Bell Wall for Women - Marketing Made Easy

I had hoped to have a Fourth of July post up long before this - but, as the old saying goes, "A man may work from sun to sun, but a woman's work is never done."

Of course, that's silly. There are a lot of men who work as hard, or harder, than women. And, women who work circles around the men in their lives. Statements like that are fun to use at appropriate moments, but they are seldom true.

As I strive to write in this blog and the petblog and help clients with their blogs, as well as coaching at the publishing end of things, I marvel at the way my world is developing. I almost feel as if I'm in Second Life - not the online avatar site, but a real Second Life. The first life would, of course, be that which came before. Before I 'found myself' and started my own business.Fireworks

The Fourth of July is a good time to think about Second Life. Your second life. And, the second life of the women who are your clients or customers. Women, more so than men, live several lives at once. We are at any given time Mom, Sis, Daughter, friend, wife, aunt, and more. Men seem to weave those roles into what they do, collectively. Women separate them out - and give each one its own place in her heart and mind. It makes us rather complex, yes, but not so much so that you cannot market to us.

This week I received my Monday Morning Memo from Roy Williams of Wizard of Ads, and it blew me away. Here's just a smidgen of it - to get you thinking about the women in your life, and how you should be approaching them...

Williams wrote, "We men tend to be impatient and short-sighted. And we show it by what we write. The male voice in literature is hungry. Climb that mountain. Reach for those stars. Conquer. Subdue. Reproduce. Win.

"But the literary voice of a woman is quieter, as though she has eyes that see from a greater distance."

He goes on to note that, "The challenge of a woman is that she's expected to take care of everybody. But who takes care of her?"

In honor of women the world over, Wizard Academy is building a Landmark Bell Wall. Visit the link, contemplate the concept, and share it the women in your life, personal and professional. It's a win-win in the marketing game and a worthwhile thing to do today, while sipping lemonade by the pool, or watching fireworks light up the sky.

As we give tribute to our great country - think of how you can give tribute to - her.

Thanks for your support of Wizard Academy, Yvonne - we sure hope to see you here one day very soon! Yes, Roy's writing touches the heart of everyone, and really hits home where women are concerned. The Bell Wall will be extraordinary... and just one of the tributes that adorns the campus in ways too special to write about. Come experience it for yourself!
