The month of June is now fully upon us, (Grads, Dads and Brides as all us marketers refer this month to) so here's an interesting wedding promotion. Now in it's seventh year, the annual Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest is fully underway sponsored by Roxie Radford, Laura Gawne and Susan Bain who operate the popular website www.Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com.
Everyone likes to save money here and there. And for some, saving money on weddings is more than a hobby, and a little less than an obsession. So the team has based this contest on the classic wedding shower game where contestants create a gown along with a headpiece made only of toilet paper. This year'w contest started on May 5 and submission are open till June 17, 2011. Winners will be announced on July 7, 2011.
The Grand Prize winner will receive $1000, the second place winner will receive $500 and the third place winner will receive $250. To enter participants need to first plan their design and enlist a friend’s help if needed. They then can only use some toilet paper, tape and/or glue and/or needle and thread to create their design. The dress needs to be made on a model or mannequin. Then the designer must take some great digital photos (front, back and side) to submit into the contest. Video clips are welcome but not necessary.
Once completed, all photos and videos are to be submitted to Cheap Chic Weddings at [email protected]. The Official Toilet Paper Wedding Dress judging panel at Cheap Chic Weddings will judge the digital photo entries on the basis of creativity, originality, beauty and use of toilet paper.
“We are extremely excited about this year’s contest and look forward to seeing all of the creative entries. They never cease to amaze us!” said Laura Gawne of Cheap Chic Weddings.
Last year’s Grand Prize winner featured here, Galit Zeierman, found inspiration in nature to come up with the winning design. Let's see if the contestants can top this with some new inspirations this year.
Nice post! It's pretty informative and helpful. June is really the month for weddings.
