Millennials - Not a New Disease, More of a Required Mindset

Yvonne-head-squareby  Yvonne DiVita - on Facebook and Beyond!

Dan Schawbel is someone I admire and pay attention to, when he writes. He's a Millennial. One of those fortunate folk born at a certain time in the U.S. history. I don't know for sure if other countries have millennials, or baby boomers (of which I am one), but the U.S. certainly does. We love putting labels on people and groups.

This is important today because the labels we slap on each other often stick. And, when they do, they bring a lot of misinformation with them. They bring a bit of prejudice (all baby boomers did not serve in the war nor do we all blame today's ills on... millennials or Gen Y), a bit of truth, and a bit of mystery. It's the mystery part that intrigues me.

Dan, famous for teaching us personal branding, is uncovering the mystery of Millennials and talking about why they matter, in his new book, Promote Yourself - The New Rules for Career Success, which I'll be reviewing in September.

For now, the trailer below gives you a sneak peek and, I hope, also begins to demonstrate why everyone, yes, everyone - each one of us, matters.
