Support these PINK Promotions during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Besides all the beautiful fall colors that we see in Western NY during October, we’re also seeing lots of PINK. Every year I write at least one PINK post in October highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness month to help support the cause. Here again are some of the brands and organizations that I have seen being PINK.
The NFL is usually my first sighting of PINK every October. Their “A Crucial Catch” campaign is in partnership with the American Cancer Society and focused on the importance of annual screenings. Throughout the month NFL games will feature players, coaches and referees wearing pink game apparel, on-field pink ribbon stencils, special game balls and pink coins all to help raise awareness. Then these PINK items will be auctioned off at NFL Auction, with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Women share their stories on the Crucial Catch website and everyone is invited to follow the conversation on Twitter at #NFLPINK. I found this Tweet about my NFL team, the Buffalo Bills, and player Aaron Williams who died his hair pink for the cause! Check out the short video to see his Mohawk!

For the past 15 years General Mills and their Yoplait’s Save Lids to Save Lives program has donated over $15 million to the cause. It all started when an employee at their Carson City, California, Yoplait plant lost a family member to cancer and helped organize the plant’s support for a local race to raise funds to fight cancer. Today every lid redeemed will benefit Susan G. Komen® and its network of more than 120 local Affiliates. One more great reason to buy Yoplait and General Mills products this October.
We are assisting one of our long-standing clients, Lane Bryant, with their own PINK Promotion this year, the Picture Yourself Making a Difference Photo Sweepstakes which they are running on their Facebook Page. Lane Bryant is inviting fans to enter the sweepstakes by uploading a photo of themselves making a difference and being an “Inspiration”. Lane Bryant provides a few examples such as, are you a cancer survivor, a cancer caretaker, a volunteer, a walk or run event participant, or have you donated to the cause (like Aaron Williams from the Bills).
For each entry the promotion receives, Lane Bryant will contribute a $1.00 (up to $5,000) to the American Cancer Society. And if they reach $5,000 entries, Lane Bryant will then donate an additional $5,000. So please pass this along to help them reach their goal. Each week one entrant will be drawn who will receive a Lane Bryant prize package.
I’m sure we all have a personal story that we can share relevant to this cause. My mom died of breast cancer over three years ago and the disease was not in our family up to this time. I also have some good friends much younger than my mom who are alive today because they got an early screening. So please do what ever you can, especially this month, to support the cause.
