That's my plan and I am sticking to it. I never liked using the phone, and I still do not fully understand all the 'socials' - even though I am playing that game.
The computer or mobile device screen does, help, though, when years and miles separate you. I must admit to loving the reconnecting I've done on Facebook with my grade school friends. But when the screen becomes a complete substitute for in-person interaction, that, my friend, is dangerous!
Caren Gittleman commented on 'The Lost Art of Social'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c011b53ef01a73dd8deb5970d2014-06-15T00:26:21Z2014-06-15T13:05:26ZCaren Gittlemanhttp://www.catchatwithcarenandcody.comthis was BEYOND power packed and soooooooo true! We all fall victim to thinking that sitting behind a computer screen, sharing, liking, etc etc is "social", when in fact, it isn't as you so wonderfully stated above!
Robbi commented on 'The Lost Art of Social'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c011b53ef01a73dd8d1d5970d2014-06-14T22:02:02Z2014-06-15T13:05:26ZRobbihttp://www.allwordsmatter.comI make sure I get out and attend at least obe face to face meeting a week or meet a...
I make sure I get out and attend at least obe face to face meeting a week or meet a friend for coffee or take a class. I need to get out from behind the computer screen and see people in real life.
Kimberly Gauthier commented on 'The Lost Art of Social'tag:typepad.com,2003:6a00d8341c011b53ef01a3fd1dea1b970b2014-06-14T15:19:26Z2014-06-15T13:05:26ZKimberly Gauthierhttp://keepthetailwagging.comWhen I first came to FB, it was very social. I was able to catch up with old friends, high school friends, we planned a reunion via FB (that I missed). But today, it's all about connecting, not being social.

I have 10 friendship requests from strangers that have gone unanswered on Facebook, because I don't know these people and instead of first saying "oh cool, a new friend," I ask "what does this person think I can do for them?"

That's not social.
