Why Your Second Act is Always Better than Your First

Time for Books | How Remarkable Women Lead | Sense of Purpose

Bring meaning to your second act

Time for Books:  How Remarkable Women Lead - Sense of Purpose.

This book is a must read for all women in business but especially for those of us who are both entrepreneurs and baby boomer women in their second act.

I'm a firm believer in the movement we hear a lot about these day, that second act. The time in life when you're ready to move forward, discard the disappointments of yesterday, and embrace the anticipation of tomorrow.

A second act is a beautiful renewal that does move away from an unsatisfying existence, into a world of light, and love, and excitement. A second act is a rebirth with a memory.

In How Remarkable Women Lead, the authors take us on a journey. A journey of learning how to look inside ourselves and pull out that remarkable women hiding in a corner of our hearts. It's a journey of insight. It's a journey of discovery. It's a journey with purpose.

As noted in the video, I have barely touched the surface of this book. there is so much more that lives and breathes within its pages, I encourage you to buy it. Please! Yes, I received a free copy, but that's not why I fell in love with it! And, I do not make a penny off of your purchase, if you go to your favorite book store and buy it.

Let me say a few more things before I send you off to the video.

There are stories in this book that will resonate with many of you. Stories that pull the curtain away from the mumbles in our ears, trying to tell us we can't do this or that - too often playing into our in securities. Once the curtain is pulled aside, the light illuminates our true purpose in life and rewards us with a glimpse into the way forward.

In this video, there is a BIG question...asked and sort of answered. I won't reveal it here, you need to watch and answer it for yourself.

In the video, there is talk of doing "something bigger than yourself"...and isn't that what our life's purpose is, regardless of path taken or dream desired? Don't you want your second act to be an accomplishment for "something bigger than yourself"?

Are you dreaming with a purpose? I wonder.

Enjoy this week's Time for Books | How Remarkable Women Lead - Sense of Purpose video book review.

Come back next week - where I'll start March with Design the Life You Love by Ayse Birsel.

You are already halfway there, Caren. You have the dream, you've written it down, now pursue it. This book will be super helpful, but the next one...for March, could be the one that changes your life. Stay tuned!

I sooo loved this series! Immediately this quote resonated with me from today's post "There are stories in this book that will resonate with many of you. Stories that pull the curtain away from the mumbles in our ears, trying to tell us we can't do this or that - too often playing into our in securities. Once the curtain is pulled aside, the light illuminates our true purpose in life and rewards us with a glimpse into the way forward."

The voices inside of my head are known to wreak havoc! I fall victim also to what you mentioned that I listen to "expectations and values set by others"......I have to quiet those voices and listen to myself. I DO have a lifelong dream that involves writing...I HAVE written my ideas down........now...I need to find a way to act on them. I am thinking the question you are referring to is "what is our dream or our core purpose?" I think I know........it keeps coming back and I need to listen to it.
I will try and get my hands on this book, thank you so much for your insightful and motivating commentary, once again, it is a joy to watch/listen to you........(I think you need your own show) :)
